What is The Couple Journal?

It’s a daily online journal for couples that asks five specific questions, designed to bring you and your partner closer together.

Like washing your face or brushing your teeth, The Couple Journal should be built into your daily routine for a stronger, healthier relationship. It only takes around seven minutes, so you can get on with your day.

How it works:

The Couple Journal asks five very specific questions designed to bring you and your partner closer together. You can be as specific or as vague as you want, it’s important to make a habit of this activity. Pick a time and answer the questions together, every day.

Pick something tangible that both of you want to have done by the end of the month. This can be directly related to your relationship, like finishing a relationship book together. Or, it can be something else entirely, like starting a business, making the kids happier..really anything that has you working together.

This is possibly the most important part, because it’s the little things that tend to make or break relationships in the long run. This section serves two purposes. This both props up your partner and reminds you that he/she does things every day that you shouldn’t take for granted. Feel free to add the small things, like “I’m grateful that he kisses me on the cheek in the morning,” as well as the big stuff, like “I’m, grateful that she worked double-time for a year, so we could afford that once-in-a-lifetime vacation.” Focus on what your partner does right.

Be intentional! Picking something you want to do with your partner and writing it down will increase your chances of an actual emotional connection on a daily basis.

To wrap it all up from the first question to the last, examine your monthly mission. What can you do today to get closer. Write it down. Do it.

Last, but not least, don’t forget to save. Also note that once you navigate away from this page, you won’t be able to edit it again.

You’re free to write as much or as little as you want, but it should not take more than 5-10 minutes. The idea is that it’s simple and easy, which makes you more likely to actually do it, and again, that’s where the power comes from – the habit.
